A California Highway Patrol motorcycle police office was killed in a San Bernadino County (which is located next to Clark County, NV) crash while pursuing a car during a chase.
From the Redlands Daily Facts: "A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer died in a fiery crash during a high-speed chase in Redlands this morning.
Officer Tom Coleman, a seven-year veteran with the department, tried to pull over a motorist for an unknown violation, but the driver sped away. The CHP said four people were in the vehicle.
"At one point they were committing multiple violations, driving up to 100 mph on surface streets," said CHP Officer Daniel Hesser.
The driver crashed on Lugonia Avenue by Citrus Plaza shopping center about 6:30 a.m. The occupants of the car jumped out and ran, said CHP Officer Oscar Medellin.
"The officer was in pursuit of the suspects eastbound on San Bernardino Avenue. A big rig was heading northbound on Alabama. There was a collision," Medellin said." http://www.redlandsdailyfacts.com/ci_15278656
Whether the officer is from Nevada or California, the officer died protecting the public from a bunch of thugs. May God bless the officer, his family, the CHP and all law enforcement for the all the dangerous work they do.
