Some other results from Tuesday's primary.
Dina Titus will be taking on Dr./Col Joe Heck. Heck beat a field of 4 highly qualified candidates and based on his experience in the military and being a medical doctor. Dina Titus is a college professor who has never had a real job in her life. She is also a lap dog for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and President Obama and that will not be a good thing. This should be a cake walk for Heck.
Incumbent Shelly Berkley(D-Las Vegas) will be taking on Kenneth Wegner for U.S. Rep. District 1. This should be an interesting race. Normally, I would think Berkley would win this easily, but reading some liberal blogs and the Las Vegas Sun, she may be in a little trouble because of her support of Israel. Some of the liberal blogs have been very nasty towards, to the point of being anti-Semitic. So, she may be in some trouble.
Dean Heller (R-NV) will probably be taking on Nancy Price. She beat her opponent, Ken McKenna by less than 1%, so there may be a recount. Heller should win, but with all the anti-incumbency attitude in Nevada and nationwide, this may not be an easy win.
Sheriff Doug Gillispie will be taking on Laurie Bisch in which Gillispie will win in a landslide.
In Nye County, where there has been tremendous upheaval in the DA and Sheriff's office, current DA, Bob Beckett was turned out of office, finishing last in a 5 person field. Ron Kent won the Republican DA race. For Sheriff, incumbent Tony Demeo finished first in a field of 5 candidates. We'll see if there will be any more arrests between now and November of any candidates in Nye County.
So, silly season 2 will soon begin with November just a few months away. Let the games begin.
