Thinning The Herd: Update On Henderson Police Shooting

From the Las Vegas Sun: "Authorities responded at about 8 p.m. to the MacDonald Highlands community at the south end of Stephanie Street. Police spokesman Keith Paul said the suspects stole a car within MacDonald Highlands and had pointed a handgun at residents in the neighborhood.
The suspects also possibly committed other crimes in the community, police said.
Officers caught up with the stolen vehicle at about 8:10 p.m. at the end of Dragon Ridge Drive, which is a dead-end road off MacDonald Ranch Drive. Police ordered the suspects to exit the car, but they refused, Paul said.
Authorities then negotiated with them for about 45 minutes, urging them to surrender and leave the car.
"They were told not to put the car into gear," Paul said. "At some point the suspect put the car into gear, into reverse, and drove straight at the officers, leaving the officers with no other option but to fire their weapons." http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/jun/08/henderson-officers-fatally-shoot-armed-stol/

The HPD did a good job and they did what they had to do. No officer wants to kill another person, but some people just insist on being shot. This could have been easily a suicide by cop moment for the driver.
Too bad the thugs were so selfish that they put the officers at risk of their lives and the cops who fired will have to live with this the rest of their lives.

Update: The thug that was killed is now a thugette. A woman in her 30's was the driver and the police have not identified the male passenger. Hmm, wonder why? Coma, illegal, criminal using an alias?
I don't think we will be hearing much more about this case except for the names of the thug and thugette because the Henderson PD is known for keeping it's secrets.
