Harry Reid is running commercials saying he single handily brought the new VA hospital to fruition. Did he really?
The VA didn't have a role?
Veterans and their families had no role in bringing the VA hospital and clinics?
American Legion and the VFW had no role?
Any other federal legislator didn't have a role, such as Dina Titus, Shelly Berkley, Dean Heller or John Ensign? I am thinking that Titus and Berkley are pretty well pissed that Harry stole their thunder.
Local governments, including Clark County and State of Nevada had no role? Also include the local, state and federal government workers who helped clear the way for the hospital with filling out paperwork, filing forms with different agencies etc.. That's not an easy thing to do.
How about taxpayers and their paying for the hospital- shouldn't Harry thank us for our role?
If Harry was so powerful in getting a hospital, why did it take so long for McCarren to get a USO center for military people going through the airport. And why won't it open until Veteran's Day of this year? http://www.fox5vegas.com/news/24023701/detail.html Why did Harry wait until it was an election year to get the USO? And have it open about a week after the 2010 elections. Nice election ploy.
Same thing with City Center. Harry says he got City Center done and taking all the credit. He may deserve some credit, but a very small part. The people who thought of City Center, financed it and constructed it made City Center work, not Harry Reid.
No, Harry, you did not bring the new VA hospital by yourself. Did you help. Yes, of course, but so did a lot of other people. Try sharing the limelight instead of taking it for yourself.
