So, I'm driving down Eastern Ave in Henderson today from Horizon Ridge Parkway, head north to the I 215. When we get by the Arbys, the lanes got from 3 lanes to two because of construction, except, there was no construction going on- no men, no machines, no dug up concrete. Nothing. Because of the construction zone, traffic was backed up at least 1/3 of a mile or so and you had to wait in line while waiting for the traffic lights to cycle through.
So what, you say, it's summer which means construction season. Fair enough, however, when you look at the wasted energy and releasing all the bad green house gasses that Obama and Reid complain about, who is the major cause of it? Why it's government. Local, county and state governments. Their inability to time traffic lights wastes so much energy. Henderson is so bad that you are lucky to get a green light from one intersection to the next. Clark County is horrible as well. The City of Las Vegas is a little better, from what I have seen.
But think how much energy we are wasting and emitting those nasty greenhouse gasses while waiting at traffic lights. Solving these traffic problems would make any environmentalist happy (if they are ever happy).
So, to Harry Reid, Dina Titus, Shelly Berkley and President Obama, why not put out stimulus money for this endeavor? It will help virtually everyone, unless you are home bound, bike or ride everywhere or live in cities like Beatty, Neshkoro or Dunseith. This solution probably will help about 90% of Americans, which would provide a lot of goodwill towards voters.
But I just don't think the liberals would think about this or care. They pride themselves on being hypocrites.
