Clark County fire Chief Resigns

Fire Chief, Steve Smith of the CCFD announced his retirement today after 31 years with CCFD. from the Las Vegas Sun: After five years as the head of Nevada's largest fire department, Clark County Fire Chief Steven M. Smith announced today he is retiring.
Smith's retirement will be effective Sept. 13 after spending 31 years with the department, the county said. Before serving as chief, Smith was a battalion chief, firefighter, engineer, captain and paramedic.

One has to think that he was getting tired with all the BS he is getting from the unions and from the Clark County commissioners and administrators regarding running the department.
He's a good chief and hope he enjoys his retirement, but I have a feeling it will be a short retirement as I think he will be hired onto another department or start a consulting firm.
