Money Won't Buy You Love Or Baseball Titles

New York Yankees: gone
Phildelphia Philles: barely still alive
Boston Red Sox: Gone
California Angels: Gone
Chicago White Sox: gone
Chicago Cubs: Gone
New York Mets: Gone
San Francisco Giants: Gone
Minnesota Twins: Gone
Detroit Tigers: Moving On

The Yankees had almost $100,000,000 more in salary than the Detroit Tiggers and the Tiggers beat the Yankees tonight, 3 games to two. Ahhh, tooo bad.

These are the top 10 payrolls for the 2011 season for Major League Baseball. Only 2 teams are still in the running for the World Series.
The bottom 10 average salaries also has one team still in the running: the Arizona Diamondbacks.
So, this year in MLB, money meant nothing except money doesn't buy World series Titles like in years past. That is why you have a great farm system and a great general manager.
