From the LVRJ: Nevada Republicans decided Saturday to move up its GOP presidential caucus to January to preserve the state's early voting spot, even though it will mean losing half the Silver State's delegates at the national convention.
The GOP executive board voted to go ahead with plans to hold its caucus following New Hampshire, once that state decides its date, which will come after the traditional first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses.
Nevada moved its caucus date from Feb. 18 in response to Florida deciding to hold its primary on Jan. 31, in an attempt to jump ahead of the early voting states.

Seriously, who cares when Nevada holds their caucus? It probably will not be well attended and some candidates will not bother to come to Nevada. I think Perry, Romney, Paul and Huntsman will work the caucuses and the others will not. We may not even get that many candidates since Nevada may lose half of the GOP delegates at the national convention.
We also may not get many candidates in Nevada is because of economy is so far in the tank, these candidates have no clue how get Nevada back working again.
Another reason I believe the GOP is not taking the State of Nevada seriously is that, as one of Nevada's leading conservative bloggers, by the number of readers, I have not been contacted through e-mail about any presidential campaigns. This leads me to believe that other conservative bloggers have not been contacted as well. Right now, I don't who I may support for the GOP nomination and no one is trying to convince me their guy is the best. Is the way the GOP will run the 2012 election? If so, we might as well throw in the towel now.
So, the Nevada GOP will try and make it's self relevant by changing the date of our caucuses, but it will probably fail because we will have fewer delegates to go to the GOP convention, the nomination process will have just started and there will probably be no front runner when they come to Nevada. But the local media and political pundits will enjoy the extra spotlight and ad revenue and that will make it very boring for those of us who have to endure another election.
