From CNS News:
Rush Limbaugh today celebrated the 25th anniversary of his top-rated nationally syndicated radio talk show, which first aired on Aug. 1, 1988. While discussing the anniversary, Limbaugh reflected on the challenges he’s faced over the years--including the pessimists who did not believe he could succeed in talk radio at all, let alone achieve the tremendous success that he has. “I had a senior executive at ABC Radio tell me in 1972, ‘If you want to stay in this business, you had better go into sales, because you just don’t have the talent. You’re never going make it,’" said Limbaugh. “But the point is, I never listened to the naysayers,” he said. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/limbaugh-celebrates-25th-anniversary-pinnacle-talk-radio
I remember first listening to him on WISN radio in Milwaukee after he first came on the air and wondered who that guy was but when he talked, I agreed with what he said and he was also funny, with his updates and some political humor.
I also attended his Rush to Excellence Tour when I lived in Madison, WI., when he would put on these talks all around the country and when he weighed 300 pounds.
Today, I rarely listen to him, less than 5 times a year, mainly, he just repeats what he has been saying for 25 years, but saying it in different ways, but it's nice to know he is still king of talk radio and try as they may, the liberals have never succeeded in silencing him and he has been unapologetic for just about everything he has said over the past 25 years.
