Most people would recognize this as a fire engine and not a ladder truck, even though it does have a ladder on it.
But considering the reporter of the story, it may not be a surprise that this fool could not identify a fire truck:
I'm a summer intern in Reuters' Detroit bureau. My work there will mostly focus on covering the automotive industry, but I'll also help cover the ongoing issues in the city of Detroit.
I spent the first few months of 2013 as an intern with Michigan Radio, the National Public Radio affiliate based in Ann Arbor. Michigan Radio serves all of lower Michigan, and I was a general reporter covering breaking news all across the state. I reported, recorded and wrote segments for the station's newscasts.
I also worked as an intern with Automotive News during the summers of 2011 and 2012. Based in Detroit, Automotive News has bureaus around the world and is one of the preeminent publications covering the global automotive industry.

Let's see, public radio worker and reporter, an intern and rough grammatical skills.
That's what you get for reporters these days.
