Typical Democrat.
From the Las Vegas Sun:
Assemblyman Harvey Munford, D-Las Vegas, has proposed a bill-draft for the 2015 Legislature that would ban the Bishop Gorman football program for the state-championship playoffs.
Munford, who coached for 15 years in the Clark County School District, is proposing the bill because he says the Catholic college-preparatory school has large advantages over the public schools they play.
It capped a 14-0 season for the Gaels, who won their sixth consecutive state football title.
Munford contends that Gorman has the ability to grant scholarships and recruit athletes from across the Las Vegas Valley while the schools they compete against are usually confined to athletes who live within that school's district boundaries. The current system gives Gorman unfair advantages, Munford said. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2014/dec/19/legislator-wants-bishop-gorman-banned-football-pla/
Of course, Munford is a Democrat.
There are numerous problems in Nevada including a budget that is not balanced, Nevada is still in a foreclosure crisis, crime is a problem etc.
And Munford thinks this issue should be addressed by legislators?
It is kind of scary when legislators get involved with high school athletics.
Maybe if there were better football coaches, including Munford, in Clark County and Nevada, maybe Bishop Gorman can get some better competition.
Further, Gorman plays public schools from California, Arizona and other states and these schools give Gorman all the competition they can handle.
So, to Assemblyman Munford, why don't you get off your lazy butt and make your football team better, so they can compete against Gorman.
And if this is one of most pressing issue for Nevada, in your opinion, then maybe you ought to resign so someone with some real intelligence can serve the people instead of you.
