Roasted Guinea Pig In NYC

From the NY Daily News: Holy spit!
Cops investigating an animal cruelty case in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park found a man roasting a guinea pig over a roaring flame Saturday morning — and deemed it perfectly legal, officials said.
Officers descended on the barbecue area near the Ninth St. park entrance in Park Slope about 9:30 a.m. after a concerned parkgoer called 911 worried someone was torturing a squirrel.
But the caller had his animals mixed up. The early morning gourmand was roasting a guinea pig, which is a delicacy in Peru and other South American countries.
The man, who was not named, is from Ecuador, according to the website DNAinfo.
Because he was in an area of the park set aside for barbecuing, the man was allowed to go back to his meal.
“He wasn’t holding an animal down and torturing it,” a police source said. “If he wants to feed on guinea pig that’s his prerogative.”
As an owner of a guinea pig, I feel that this guy's behavior is kind of disgusting.
But I wonder, what if this was a dog or cat?  Would the cops reaction be the same?

  1. How's that "diversity" working for ya?

This is what happens when you invite Third World types to a first world culture. In California they've been having issues with goat carcasses turning up around some towns with a Mexican influence. In Baltimore I was given some intel about a church bathroom, which had one of these refugees washing their child in the toilet - they thought it was a bath fountain you see! In Dearborn Michigan, Christians are being harassed by the growing Muslim population. Now Syrian muslims are being trucked into Idaho while Maine (Lewiston to be specific) is taking in more Somalis. Their police dept are looking to hire some as officers. Yeah, that will be grand.

    Nothing to see here.
