Former U.S. judge, Brian Sandoval easily defeated Gov. Jim Gibbons tonight in the GOP primary for governor. Sandoval defeat Gibbons 55-27%.
Sandoval should easily beat Rory Reid in November. Hell, even though Reid was basically running by himself in the primary, he only got 70% of the Democratic vote. That cannot be reassuring.
For Gibbons, he is the only sitting governor who was defeated in his party's primary. Sandoval is a winning candidate, but Gibbons steered this state through some very tough times and the state should be thankful for that. But Gibbons had personal issues and lost support because of the bad economy and negative press.
