And this guy was giving thought on being on the Supreme Court?
From Fox News:
President Obama’s views on gay marriage continue to “evolve,” with the president now saying he views same-sex marriage as a constitutional right.
In an interview with the New Yorker the president was quoted as saying, “Ultimately, I think the Equal Protection Clause does guarantee same-sex marriage in all fifty states.”
The statement, coming as the courts clear the way for gay unions in more states, would appear to complete a long shift for the president, who for years has grappled with the issue.
The first time he publicly expressed his views on the subject was back in 1996 when the then-Illinois state Senate candidate said he favored legalizing same-sex marriage and “would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages.” http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/10/20/obama-says-gay-marriage-constitutional-right/
There is a big difference between something being legal and a constitutional right.
Marriage is not a constitutional right. Not everyone can get married. People who are mentally retarded and who have a guardian cannot get married unless they have permission from their guardian.
A 13 year old cannot get married.
Some prisoners cannot get married.
So, when Obama says that gay marriage is a constitutional right, he just is wrong... like most of the time.
How the hell did he even graduate high school, much less law school?
