What The Hell?

I must have missed it, but I thought Fox was suppose to only cover NFC games while CBS covers AFC games.
This week, on the early game on Fox, we got the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills, both AFC teams.
The game was a blow out and not too exciting.
But when did Fox start doing all AFC games?

  1. That's part of the new television contracts with Fox and CBS -- there's no hard tie-in between the network and the conference. However, most AFC games will be on CBS.

Sunday was the first instance of an AFC-AFC matchup on Fox. That left Fox to reach to Mike Goldberg to call the Vikings-Lions game, which ended up poorly.
