Get ready To Be Paying $3 For A Gallon Of Gas

From Jsonline: "Gas prices have started to rise and the national average could reach $3 per gallon nationally by Memorial Day, according to price analysts. Prices at Milwaukee gas pumps have mirrored the national price rise.
For investors, rising gas prices are supposed to be a sign that the economy is improving, and that as summer approaches, drivers will be willing to spend more to fill their vehicles.
But it's unclear that the fragile economic recovery can handle a price increase that goes much above the $3-per-gallon threshold.
"There is an emotional component to a move back to $3 gal or higher," said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst for the Oil Price Information Service. "It depresses consumer sentiment," although $3 per gallon is far below the record prices that topped $4 per gallon two years ago."

Here in Vegas, you can get gas about $2.69 a gallon or more. I can see $3 a gallon and I can see it for 2 reasons. One a weak dollar and this is what the Dem's and liberals want, and they are in charge right now.
There is no doubt that Obama, Reid, Pelosi and other liberals want high gas prices. And $3 is really too low for them. But they are not smart enough to realize that the higher the price of gas, especially diesel fuel for trucks, the more you pay at the stores for products. if they are smart, then they don't care about the consumer, which is even worse.
If gas does hit $3 a gallon tourist destinations will be hurt in the summer and that includes Las Vegas and Wisconsin. People will stay home and spend their money at home, if they have money to spend.
Thanks Obama, Reid, Pelosi and other liberals.

  1. So, by your logic, we had $4/gallon gas a couple years ago because Bush, Cheney and the Republicans in Congress wanted it. Is that how you felt at the time?

  2. Umm, no, Jill. Obama has stated that he wnts higher gas prices. Liberals do want higher prices to reduce driving, increase mass transit etc.
Bush didn't want gas prices, but he let the market forces wortk.
Obama is letting the market work but he is happy prices are rising.

  3. Something's odd here.

MarketTicker reports that 'one can walk across' the tanker ships loaded w/petroleum in the Caribbean.

  4. I agree, Dad and the thing is from what I hear on the news, we have a glut of gasoline sitting in storage.
Oil is over $82 a barrel, last time I checked, so maybe the dollar is getting weaker?

  5. Depends. The USD is stronger against the Euro, for example.

But if I were a Shiekh of Araby, I'd want more dollars against petroleum...
