Injured Officer Update

Today, Channel 13 stated that the injured officer, Michael Madland, is in a medically induced coma and is still in critical condition.
"The surviving perp had any charges against him dropped today: "Charges were dropped Monday against the second man arrested in the shooting of a Las Vegas police officer last week after prosecutors announced they were unable to proceed.
Justice of the Peace Deborah Lippis told Marvin Wilson, "There is no complaint filed, sir. You're ordered released with no return date." Wilson, 45, will remain in custody at the Clark County Detention Center on $100,000 bond for an unrelated petit larceny charge, according to jail records.
Police originally charged Wilson with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting a police officer relating to the March 23 shooting that left officer Michael Madland fighting for his life.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger said there was not enough evidence to establish that Wilson was driving the stolen vehicle or if he was, that he should have known that the vehicle was stolen to support the possession of a stolen vehicle charge.
The charge of resisting a police officer would have to be heard in Las Vegas Municipal Court because the incident happened within the city limits, Roger said."

I find it hard to believe that Wilson did not know that the car was stolen. As a commentator said on this blog earlier, the two, Wilson and Beal, are related. ( http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2010/03/something-bothers-me-about-police.html) One would think that if they are cousins and they hung out together, Wilson should have know whether the Mercedes Benz was stolen. after all, it was a Mercedes Benz. Could Beal afford it? Did Beal tell him? During the chase, didn't Wislon ask why the cops were after them? I just find it hard to believe. But Wilson has been around the criminal justice system and he knows how to game the system.
The good thing is that he still in jail and won't get out anytime soon.
