Nevada Budget Solution Solved: What, No Teacher Layoffs?

Ok, we have been told, the State of Nevada had about a $900 deficit. And bingo, no more problem and it appears hardly anyone will be laid off and teachers are going to not going to lose pay and no one will be laid off, at least teachers.
CCSD will lose about 6.9% of their operating budget from the State, about $145-170 million dollars. But no teachers will be cut nor will there a pay decrease. The district has put on a hiring freeze and will not fill the positions that are open and fill those positions long term subs. They also may eliminate the positions.
The State will be on a 4 day work week, but hours will be longer in State offices. Some Democrats theorized that if the people see how the people are hindered, they will demand an increase in taxes to increase hours at state agencies. I think this is a pipe dream.
In the end, Governor Gibbons and Democrats worked to get a deal. Will it work? Doubt it. Will it help the legislators and governor in their re-election. Doubt that as well. But we will see.
