ACORN Pleads Guilty To Voter Regristration Fraud

Remember ACORN, that poor little misunderstood community organization that was a favorite of President Obama and Harry Reid? Well, ACORN, the organization pleaded guilty to voter registration fraud. From the LVRJ: The grass-roots community organizing group ACORN once drew the ire of conservative groups and the attention of national media. And when ACORN faced charges in Las Vegas of voter registration malfeasance in 2008, a flock of political spin doctors and lawyers rushed to its defense. But three years later, with ACORN's two co-defendants already having taken plea deals and the organization essentially defunct and in Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the case received little attention as a lawyer on behalf of ACORN pleaded guilty Wednesday. After months of negotiations and some legal wrangling, mostly because of a federal court-appointed bankruptcy trustee not wanting to deal with the criminal case, ACORN entered a guilty plea to one count of felony compensation for registration of voters. Its criminal defense attorney, Lisa Rasmussen, entered the plea. In negotiations with the Nevada attorney general's office 12 other felony counts were dropped against the organization and prosecutors will not argue at the Aug. 10 sentencing hearing. http://www.lvrj.com/news/acorn-pleads-guilty-to-felony-compensation-for-registration-of-voters-119367839.html ACORN, the former darling of the left, was nothing but a screwed up liberal organization bent on fraud, especially voter fraud. The State of Nevada, led by the Democrat Ross Miller, Secretary of State, and Democrat Attorney General, Catherine Cortez-Masto, filed the charges and has gotten three convictions against ACORN and it's employees. Yep, hope and change. President hoped that ACORN would be a powerful agent he could use to get re-elected but that changed by fellow Democrats who had some common sense and a sense of decency, something that Harry Reid and Obama don't have. Buh bye, ACORN. Assets less than $4000. Liabilities of over $4,000,000. That's a liberal organization for you. Buh Bye ACORN, good to see you go.

  1. Dan, actual voter fraud is rare. Voter REGISTRATION fraud does happen, but has rarely been shown to translate into actual fraudulent votes.

The article says: "Nevada law states it is "unlawful for a person to provide compensation for registering voters that is based upon the total number of voters a person registers.""

That's because, getting more signatures translating into more cash increases the odds that a person puts phony names onto the clipboard. It doesn't mean that "Mickey Mouse" or "Ben Dover" actually VOTED.
