Pawn Stars Review: April 4, 2011

Spring is finally here in the Laas Vegas Valley as the temperatures have warmed up and the trees are starting to get their leaves and the crab apple trees have been flowering. In the first episode, the first guy brought in some Rock and Roll Posters from San Francisco from the 1960s and 70's. Very strange looking. The guy wanted $3500 and Rick offered $2000 and it went for $2125. The next guy brought in some prosthetic glass eyeballs, actually, a whole case of them. They were from the 1890's to the early 1930s. The guy wanted $about $12,000 while the old Man declined the offer and there was no sale. Could have fun if you are a Marty Feldman fan. The next guy brought in a Evel Kneivel pinball machine. Kneivel was a motorcycle jumper from Butte, Montana. it wasn't the greatest but it still worked. The guy wanted $3000. Corey offered $1000 and then $1200. That was the sale price. Corey brought to Nick, a pinball expert from Planet 9 Pinball. The cost to fix it up was $340 with the hopes of selling for $900. Later, Nick said the game could go as high as $1500. http://www.planetninepinball.com/ They decided to put it on display in the shop for customers to play, so it is possible you can play the game if you visit the shop. The next guy brought in a signed Babe Ruth baseball photo. Time for the expert because of the good chance the signature may be a fraud. Drew came in to look at the picture. Drew said that the bottom signature was fake (it was dedicated to a woman) however, the Babe Ruth signature was real. Drew thought the signature was worth about $2500 retail. Rick offered $1000 and then $1100 and that was the selling price. In the 2nd episode, the first guy brought in the first edition of the Rolling Stone magazine from November, 1967. The guy wanted $350 and Corey offered $300 and that was the deal. The next guy had some Ohio State football pendants. They were given to football players who beat Michigan. One was from 2008 and another from 2002. The guy wanted $2500. Rick offered $1500 and then $2000 and that was the selling price. The next woman, a blind woman, came in with a Pablo Picasso etching. One of the etchings was from 1961, including one called "Poor Robby". It was a very simple drawing, really, a few lines that turned out to be a face. Time for an expert. Brett from Fine Art Encounter. http://www.artencounter.com/ the first piece was worth of about $200. The second was worth about $800-1500. The woman wanted $1000 and Rick offered $500 and then $650 and that was the selling price. The next guy had a 1931 REO Flying Cloud car/sedan. REO Speedwagon was named after the REO car company. It's a very cool looking red luxury car. The car ran and it sounded like a lawn mower. The guy wanted$40,000. Danny from Count Kustoms came in to look at the car. http://www.countskustoms.com/ The gas was leaking from the fuel system. He thought the car was worth $8000 and Rick offered $8000 and but there was no sale. The next guy brought in a coin operated breathalyzer game. Funny they would show this a couple of weeks after Corey got busted for being drunk in a bar. The guy showed how it worked and brought in his own booze. the machine kind of worked- it said the guy blew a .2 after 1 sip, which would not be accurate. The guy wanted $200 and Rick offered $125 and that was the selling price. And that wraps another week of Pawn Stars. Hope you enjoy the Spring weather, unless you live south of the equator and you enjoy your Fall.
