Jon Ralston Gone At The Las Vegas Sun

Well, looky here, Jon Ralston, Harry Reid's best friend and 10% independent and 90% liberal has left the Las Vegas Sun.  Why?  It depends on who you listen to.
From the Las Vegas Sun: Columnist Jon Ralston, Nevada's leading political commentator, is leaving the Las Vegas Sun after 12 years to create his own Internet-based commentary platform, Ralston and Sun Publisher Brian Greenspun announced today.
Ralston, whose provocative, three-times-a-week political columns have spared no one in Nevada politics, will leave the Sun on Aug. 31.
The Sun will continue to sponsor Ralston's nightly public affairs show "Face to Face With Jon Ralston," which airs on on KSNV Channel 3, Greenspun said.
"The Sun and Ralston combined to build a significant brand in political commentary that is unsurpassed in Nevada," Greenspun said. But the LVRJ says this:
"Face to Face" journalists Jon Ralston and Dana Gentry no longer see eye to eye with Las Vegas Sun Publisher Brian Greenspun.
Longtime political columnist Ralston and his TV show producer Gentry have cut ties with the Sun following a dispute over Gentry's coverage of the ongoing litigation involving Aspen Financial Services, reliable sources report.
Gentry's hard-hitting stories detailing the lawsuit involving Aspen boss Jeff Guinn, most of which were produced for the television show, have embroiled her in an element of the litigation. Although Gentry is not a named party in the lawsuit, Guinn attorney John Bailey has pushed in court to obtain personal financial information that might link her to players in the case. That issue is currently before the state Supreme Court. The Review-Journal and other news organizations, including the Sun, have filed an amicus curiae "friend of the court" brief on Gentry's behalf.....
In Sun columns, Ralston has repeatedly come to his friend and colleague's defense. On June 17 in a Sunday column in the Sun, Ralston wrote, "It now appears that the state Supreme Court is poised to render a decision on an appeal made by Jeff Guinn, the son of the late governor, who wants to rummage around in a journalist's personal life because she had the temerity to report stories he didn't like. For months, Guinn and his thuggish legal team, led by John Bailey, have raised the specter that Dana Gentry, an experienced journalist who produces 'Face to Face,' is guilty of some kind of venality in reporting on hard-money lender Guinn's dispute with his investors - a dispute that has resulted in an ever-tightening federal investigation."

I'm not sure who to believe- the Sun or the LVRJ.  The Las Vegas Sun and Brian Greenspun are not capable of telling the truth andGreenspun lack the ethics of running a newspaper.  But the LVRJ story doesn't say why Ralston was let go.
I will float this theory out there: The Sun has refused to criticize Crybaby Harry Reid for his lies about Mitt Romney not paying taxes, even though this story is local and both Ralston and Anjeanette Damon would have plenty knowledge about the story.  My guess is that Brian "The Coward" Greenspun has squelched the story and Ralston and Dana Gentry quit over this issue and probably because of other stories Ralston has written this past year, which have hurt the liberal cause. 
Will we see Ralston in the print media again in Las Vegas?  Perhaps, but I kind of doubt it as he has ripped on the LVRJ on numerous occasions. But if he were hired on by the LVRJ, then he would have to take on Ralston's buddy, Crybaby Harry Reid and I am not sure he can do that.
