On Friday, Mitt Romney visited North Las Vegas and Channel 13, KNTV with reporter Stephen Lubitz were also present.
Romney gave his speech and they had some of his supporters on TV expressing their support, which is fine because they do the same when President Obama comes and visits.
But when Lubitz talked about the protesters at the campaign site, he passed along some information that flabbergasted me.
Lubitz said that a protestor told him that Romney, if elected, would shut down Planned Parenthood. Without using the common sense God gave a goose, he repeated that as fact.
The closest thing Romney has said is this:
In an outdoor interview with Ann Rubin of KSDK.com, Romney offered a few suggestions on how he would cut the deficit.
"Of course you get rid of Obamacare, that's the easy one, but there
are others," he said. "Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of
that." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/13/mitt-romney-planned-parenthood_n_1343450.html
Romney was talking about defunding Planned Parenthood with federal funds.
Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization and isn't a government agency. Romney could not close down Planned Parenthood even if he wanted to.
But Stephen Lubitz apparently isn't that smart to know this and doesn't have the ability to filter out garbage that protesters give him.
