Reading Comprehension Problem For Pahrump Valley Times

The Pahrump Valley Times likes to chide people to read their articles if a reader makes a mistake when commenting on an article.
Well, the PVT has some reading comprehension problems of their own.  From today's editorial:
In some places the killing is so thick, the media can only expose so much of it. Take Chicago for example. At the six-month mark this year, the city had already recorded 250 homicides, up about 38 percent from the year before, and about 60 less than New York City, which is three times larger. Forty people were shot and killed alone on Memorial Day weekend in the Windy City — that’s more than three Aurora, Colorados in one weekend.

Except is was 40 shot and 10 killed.
More than 40 people were shot in Chicago over the holiday weekend, and at least 10 of them were killed, NBCChicago.com reported.  http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/05/29/11935475-violent-holiday-weekend-claims-at-least-10-lives-in-chicago?lite

Oops, PVT.  I guess you are not perfect, are you.
