As Comrade Will Kane blogged, Mayor Ed Lee jumped into the Chick-fil-A controversy today with these tweets.
“Closest #ChickFilA to San Francisco is 40 miles away & I strongly recommend that they not try to come any closer.” – @mayoredlee tweeted Thursday.
“Very disappointed #ChickFilA doesn’t share San Francisco’s values & strong commitment to equality for everyone.” – @mayoredlee added.
As AP reports: “The latest skirmish in the nation’s culture wars began when Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press
that the company was “guilty as charged” for backing “the biblical
definition of a family.” Because Cathy expressed his personal beliefs,
politically correct forces want to run his out of business.
Rush Limbaugh jumped on Lee’s comments by observing that the San Francisco mayor welcomes homeless defecating on BART escalators,
but not a successful business enterprise. But then, City Hall always
has cared more about scrubbing away unwelcome ideas than cleaning
up city sidewalks, streets and public spaces.
Yeah, what he said.
