Another Suicide At Hoover Dam

Today, another person took their final flight when a woman jumped from the new Hoover Dam bridge.
From the LVRJ: A woman jumped to her death Monday near Hoover Dam, Las Vegas police said.
Police spokesman Marcus Martin said the incident occurred about noon. A witness said the woman jumped from the O'Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge.
He said officers with his agency's Violent Crimes Section are assisting the Hoover Dam police in the investigation. The Clark County coroner is en route, Martin said.

This shouldn't come as a surprise as the bridge is very accessible to pedestrians, the bridge is very high off the ground and there are no suicide guards or nets.
After the bridge was opened, I walked along the bridge, and if you are scared of heights, this is not the place for you as the bridge is 900 feet above the water.
So, should the government spend tens of thousands of dollars for the suicide nets?  If you do that, you will hurt the people who want to take pictures and look straight down and it takes away from the beauty of the bridge.  Further, if a person is going to kill themselves, there are plenty of places in the Las Vegas area and even around Hoover Dam to do it.  Just because some people are rude enough not to respect other people's property when they jump off the bridge, we shouldn't change the bridge substantially.  It's too bad that these people think their life is no longer worth living.and it would be nice to try and prevent them from killing themselves.  But there are times when people are so depressed or determined, there is nothing you can do.
So, sadly, another person, the 4th I believe, jumped from the bridge, but it won't be the last time either.
