Harry Reid and the Koch brothers, David and Charles, have battled for years. But recently, that battle turned into a war of words.

The Senate majority leader frequently directs at the libertarian, deep-pocketed industrialists the sort of tirades that have become his election-year specialty.

“Is even one of you — is even one of you — willing to stand up and disavow the Koch brothers’ agenda?” Reid railed against his Republican colleagues last month. “I’m not afraid of the Koch brothers. None of us should be afraid of the Koch brothers.”

Reid.  (I refuse to call Reid "Senator Reid"- because Reid is anti-American, anti-Nevada, a tool of Obama and doesn't represent me in Congress)
In reality, the Koch brothers are conservative when it comes to financial issues and are libertarian when it comes to social issues.
The Koch brothers are the liberals bogeyman because the liberals know they have nothing to run on in elections because of all their failed policies.  Since Obama has become president, everyone of their liberal policies have failed, so they are in need a fall guy(s) and the Koch brothers are it.
