And The Hits Keep On Coming For North Las vegas

From the LVRJ: North Las Vegas' fire chief has been placed on administrative leave, City Manager Tim Hacker confirmed Friday.
The city's firefighters union said the move was made because the chief, Al Gillespie, refused to implement "dangerous" budget cuts.
But Hacker flatly denied that. He said he put Gillespie on leave pending further investigation into a training accident in January that the North Las Vegas Fire Department was responsible for.
"It's following proper protocol," Hacker said.
He also said Deputy Chief Kevin Brame was laid off July 1 as part of a reduction in force that Gillespie had recommendedhttp://www.lvrj.com/news/north-las-vegas-fire-chief-placed-on-administrative-leave-162393686.html
I'm sorry, but Hacker's reasoning doesn't make sense since the alleged incident happened in January, 6-7 months ago.
But the union's reasoning also doesn't much sense either as the Chief has been willing to, though reluctantly, to put in the budget cutting measures.
But this par for the course for North Las Vegas where they pay firefighters a king ransom for a city that just doesn't have that many fire calls (17% of their runs are fire related, 83% are medical).
Then you have Patrick Coolican, the Las Vegas Sun's idiot moron writer writing like the clown that he is about North Las Vegas.  From the clown and Sun: Off-duty North Las Vegas firefighters walked precincts this week, telling residents to pressure the city to reverse cuts in emergency services, including the rotating closure of one or two of the city’s eight firehouses any given day.
The firefighters can’t rely on their own votes in upcoming elections. Very few of them live in North Las Vegas.
Of the 171 fire department employees, only 13, or 8 percent, live in North Las Vegas, according to the city.
They average nearly $140,000 in wages and benefits, according to the city, so I guess we can hardly blame them for choosing to live in the tonier areas of the valley rather than beaten down Northtown.

I guess Clown Coolican has never driven in North Las Vegas, but there are many nice areas in North Las Vegas to live.Yes, there is some bad areas of NLV, especially east of I-15, but then when you get out to areas around Aliente and in all directions from there.  In there areas, you have homes in the $150,000 and on up.
Finally, this last line in Clown Coolican''s article pretty funny: The fiasco in North Las Vegas, which is largely the result of the bipartisan hubris and myopia of last decade’s housing bubble, should teach us one thing: Bad governance carries consequences.
Yo, Clown, Clark County and North Las Vegas have been run by Democrats, with maybe the exception of City of Henderson, even though they have a Democrat mayor along with some council members.  They dominate just about every elected government body.  The housing bubble problem has very little to do with the problems in North Las Vegas.  Firefighters and police extremely high wages, union contracts, stupid building projects, petty politics etc are the reason why NLV is in trouble, not the housing problem.
So, to NLV, maybe the finances should be taken over by the State of Nevada.  It's not going to get any better as long as you have greedy employees and incompetent administrators, though this fellow Hacker seems to be trying pretty hard to get things back on track.
