Why The U.S. Will Never Be A Global Soccer Powerhouse
The United States World Cup Soccer team was literally seconds away from winning their second match of the tournament when they let in a tying goal by Portugal.
Before the goal was scored, the U.S. decided to run a prevent defense like real American football teams do when they are ahead.
And like many times in real American football, prevent defense fails many times.
And were the Americans happy with their tie?
Umm, no, they were happy to tie Portugal.
The conspiracy theory in me says they gave away the win for tie on purpose because of their horrible play in the last minute or so and the "I don't care we lost" attitude afterwards.
But in reality is that the Americans are not ready for prime time yet.
