At least nine people were injured, one fatally, in shootings on the South and West sides on Tuesday, police said.
Among the injured were a 14-year-old boy critically wounded in a West Side shooting and four people hurt in a single shooting on the South Side, according to police.
The 14-year-old was shot about 10:25 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Drake Avenue, as he walked down the sidewalk, according to police.
He was hit in the lower back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Police established a crime scene on the east sidewalk of Drake after the shooting and could be seen walking in and out of an entrance to a three-story tan brick apartment building.
