Talk About Throwing Your Life Away

Former football player quarterback star in college, made millions of dollars in the pros, could have just about anything he wanted in life and is looking up to rock bottom describes Ryan Leaf.
From the Great Falls Tribune:  Ryan Leaf is currently again in custody at the Cascade County Detention Center, charged with committing a felony burglary Sunday afternoon.“The burglary happened yesterday afternoon,” Great Falls Police Sgt. Chris Hickman said Monday. “It occurred after he bailed out Friday.”“The burglary happened yesterday afternoon,” Great Falls Police Sgt. Court documents filed in Cascade County District Court this morning allege that someone came home on Sunday afternoon and found a "tall, athletic male in nice clothing" inside their residence.
When the homeowners asked the man what he was doing, he allegedly told them that he thought he was at a different address and left. The people noticed that a drill and three bottles of prescription medication were missing from their residence shortly after the man left.
Deputies from the Cascade County Sheriff's Office provided a photo lineup when questioning the homeowners and they identified Leaf as the man they saw in their home, court documents state.
Authorities contacted Leaf at his home later, and an arrest report states that Leaf had a windbreaker that matched the clothing description provided by the homeowners. They also found 89 hydrocodone pills in his bathrobe pocket and an empty prescription bottle of liquid codeine in a suitcase in his residence.

Addiction is a terrible thing, committing a burglary just 2 days after being out jail?  That is either a cry for help or just plain stupid.
My guess he is looking for some quiet time, and he will get it now, probably many years of quiet as he is on probation down in Texas for 10 years and this going to be revoked.
Someone who could have had it all, threw all away on pain medication.  What a shame.
