But listening to the police and fire scanner traffic, the firefighters and police officers are still responding to emergencies despite the weather and threats of tornadoes.

Update: Right now, there is a a lot of damage in Wichita City. Listening to the fire scanner, there are numerous heavily dmaged buildings. There are also some fires but the fire dept. is not able to reach the fires because of wires down along with trees.
There has also been a building collapse, which sounds like it was a commercial building and they are checking for trapped people. Cars are int he parking lot but not one around them. However, no one was scheduled to be in the building, so it may be ok. however another building close by is a machine shop and people are working there.
The fire dept.is now responding to a fire with people trapped.
Another call went out for another building collapse.
Oak Lawn area is very hard hit.
Update: The dispatchers are doing a very professional job. No requests for mutual aid yet.
As usual, a trailer home court got hit with people being trapped.
Another structure fire is being reported and a building collapse.
Numerous gas lines are leaking and a 1000 gallon nitrogen tank is leaking.
They just rescued about 6 people from the collapsed machine shop. There are some injuries, but they are walking.
