Question?

From Fox News:
A terminally ill woman who had decided to end her life after being told her illness would be long and painful has died, advocacy organization Compassion & Choices said Sunday.
Brittany Maynard, 29, who moved to Oregon where the “Death with Dignity Act” allows people to choose to die using medication, was diagnosed with a progressive brain tumor called glioblastoma multiforme. The average life expectancy is 14 months.
RIP to Brittany and prayers for her family while they go through the mourning period.
However, and I don't want to make light of her situation...but
If she can get a prescription for meds to kill herself and it had no apparent side effects or problems, then why can't we do the same thing for executing people on death row?
Give the prisoner thug about to executed a choice- take the meds orally and they won't need an IV.
Or, if they don't take the meds voluntarily, then give them the IV's with the understanding they may have some painful side effects and the thug is responsible for any problems that may occur.
Makes sense to me.
