Democrats are very strange. We all knew that, but I didn't realize how strange until I read this from Rassmussen Reports: Not surprisingly, there is a partisan difference. Two-out-of-three Democrats (67%) put Obama's speech first. Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Republicans and a plurality (45%) of voters not affiliated with either political party are more interested in the Super Bowl. In recent years, the State of the Union address has generally been delivered to a partisan audience, with those in the president’s party far more likely to watch than others.

The questions was what would you rather watch, Obama's State of the Union speech or the Super Bowl. 2/3 of Democrats chose Obama's speech over the Super Bowl.
Seriously, even if my Green Bay Packers weren't in the Super Bowl, I would rather watch the Super Bowl than any State of the Union speech.
Words cannot describe my disbelief that Democrats would rather listen to a speech from their leader than the Super Bowl.
And Democrats wonder why people make fun of them.

I wonder what the geographic break-down of the survey was. If they interviewed a bunch of New Yorkers, for instance, they may just be bitter that the Jets won't be playing and that the Packers kept the Giants out of the playoffs.
