CCSD: Budget Shortfall $250,000,000

Sooo, CCSD is claiming a budget deficit of $250,000,000. Ok. how bad of a deficit would have it been if the District had not taken the $58,000,000 "stimulus" this Fall?
From the LVRJ: The Clark County School District anticipates a budget shortfall of $250 million next year based on information contained in Gov. Brian Sandoval's State of the State speech Monday night.
And the hand wringing continues: Because the district has made $385 million in reductions over the past several years, it has little in the way of savings or flexibility in its budget.
"There's no slack in the rope," Weiler said

Bull crap. There is plenty of slack in the rope. How about more administrators than needed, non-teaching professional staff, school bus routes that only carry a handful or less students, the superintendent spending $400,000 on his cronies from Colorado- money that was meant for empowerment schools, a huge bureaucracy throughout CCSD and so much more.
When CCSD cuts out the fat from it's budget, then maybe we can take CCSD more seriously when they claim poverty.

  1. And get rid of the diversity consultants! Bunch of PC busybodies who produce nothing but grief.

  2. They have consultants all over the place. To be honest, I teach at an inner city school and the Diversity folks have not really bothered us. And sometimes they pay for us, at $30 an hour, to listen to a speaker.
That is a waste of money.
