So, in the State of Nevada, the voters turned down every tax increase that was put forth in Tuesday's election: Immediately, district officials pointed to the economic downturn as
the key factor in the initiative's failure. Across the state, Nevada
voters spurned every tax proposal presented to them, including a
Henderson Library District initiative that would have raised money to
keep two library branches open.
"These economic times are so
difficult right now," Joyce Haldeman, the district's associate
superintendent of community and government relations, said shortly after
the vote was announced Tuesday. "The message we got tonight was, 'Not

But then they re-elect or elect many of the tax and spenders in local, state and federal elections.
Something tells me that the majority of voters voted on name recognition only and not the issues, unless it was spelled out right in front of them in the voting booth, like the referendums.
Another reason to give an IQ test to voters.
