Teacher's Union Going For Higher taxes

From the LVRJ: The Nevada State Education Association said Monday it has more than twice the signatures needed to require the Legislature to consider adopting a 2 percent business margins tax.
The teachers' union plans to turn in 149,000 signatures Tuesday at election offices across the state. The union needs only 72,324 valid signatures for the Education First initiative petition.
But even with the signatures, the union still faces an appearance before the Nevada Supreme Court.
District Judge James Wilson of Carson City last month ruled the petition did not properly inform voters it would raise as much as $800 million a year in taxes with no guarantee the money would be used for public education. The union appealed that decision.
Josh Hicks, attorney for Committee to Protect Nevada Jobs, filed the lawsuit claiming the petition requires even failing businesses to pay the tax.  http://www.lvrj.com/news/teachers-union-touts-abundance-of-signatures-for-petition-178977371.html
Chances are is that this won't pass by the voters once the information gets out how greedy the teacher's union is.  In the last election, in Nevada, no request for increased taxes was passed by the voters.
This money is not for the kids but to line the pockets of teachers, administrators and support staff.  As a teacher, I wouldn't support the tax increase.
Nothing like taking $800,000,000 out of the economy and given to a select few and with nothing in returned guaranteed.
