No Wonder Why California Cities Are Going Broke

California cities are always saying they are broke.
Well, this could be one reason.
The Oakland Fire dept. is recruiting new firefighters and the starting salary and pay range?
FF: $79,048 - $104,018 annually, FF/PM: $94,672.08 - $114,412.32 Annually

The pay doesn't even include benefits or overtime.
That pay is ridiculous, especially when you have people who would take half the salary or even do the job as a volunteer.
This is just another reason why California cities and the State of California are running out of money.
