Sale Of Houston Hospitals Related To Health Care Reform

From Houston Chronicle: In what would be the biggest transaction in Texas Medical Center history, the St. Luke's Episcopal Health System is exploring the possible sale of its hospitals to suitors that include the Memorial Hermann and Methodist systems.
Sources in contact with parties involved said the St. Luke's board of directors recently authorized CEO David Fine to pursue a deal with Memorial Hermann, Methodist or Ascension Health, a Catholic system of hospitals and facilities headquartered in St. Louis.
St. Luke's officials would not confirm the system is in sales talks, but in response to Houston Chronicle inquiries, they acknowledged that concerns about coming health care changes prompted them to form a task force and hold meetings with a wide variety of people....
Richard Wainerdi, president of the Texas Medical Center, said he was not aware of any recent St. Luke's sales talks. He said the changes caused by health care reform would cause dramatic reform in the Medical Center and around the nation and lead to serious re-evaluations by all hospitals.  http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/St-Luke-s-exploring-hospital-sale-options-4004834.php
The sale of hospitals around the country in the very near future is going to be happening quite frequently.  Rumor had a few months ago that the St. Rose Hospitals here in Henderson will be for sale or taken over by a non-Catholic organization because of ObamaCare and the requirement for Catholic Hospitals to pay for contraception and abortions.
Thank you Harry Reid, Dina Titus, Shelly Berkley and President Obama for your crap bill.  May you four rot in hell for the pain and damage you have caused this country.

  2. May be the sale of hospitals is due to the ObamaCare bill, but i don't think that this is the most frequent reasons for these sales. Some could have undergone some financial crisis or some want to go under a good brand name so as to enhance their future and services in a wider area.
