Betting On America? How Lame Is That?

Someone on President Obama's campaign staff must have had a bad night in Las Vegas to come up with the slogan, "Betting On America".
When I first saw this, I thought it was a joke, but apparently, it is not.  From CNN: President Obama kicks off his two-day "Betting on America" campaign bus tour on Thursday heading to Toledo, Ohio. He'll spend the day in the battleground state campaigning on his commitment to economic growth and job creation.

When you bet on something, you are betting the odds and when you bet, someone wins and someone loses.  Kind of like the the auto bailouts- some big companies won, but other's, like car dealers who were shut down because of the bailouts and their employees did not win.
And if Obama is betting on America, then he is admitting that something is terribly wrong in the United States.  You don't bet on a team that is a heavy favorite, like the New York Yankees versus the Oconomowoc, WI. Little League team.  You bet on something that will give you a good return on your risk.
Which leads to another question, since you need two bettors to place a bet, who is Obama betting against?  Europe?  China?  Conservatives?  Who is America going to defeat?  And you need a clear winner, otherwise, you don't win the bet.
When you bet, you are also admitting that your team may lose, so Obama is saying, through his saying through his cute little saying, is that there is a chance America can lose.  What a wonderful attitude.
But isn't Obama nice enough to bet on America (of course which America- North, South, Central?) but why not bet on the United States?  How about a saying like, "I'm betting on the good old USofA".  I guess that is too patriotic or it may piss off some illegals or green card holders who may feel left out.
Finally, wasn't it Obama that on 2 occasions, ripped Las Vegas and it's culture?: "You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college." and "Obama said executives of failing financial institutions should use federal bailout money responsibly and that "you can't go take a trip to Las Vegas or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers' dime." http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/sep/16/mayor-obama-statements-about-las-vegas-still-keepi/
Yeah, don't come to Vegas to bet your money on.  What a hypocrite.
So, instead of betting on America, where there is a possibility that America can lose, how about coming up with a plan to fix the United States and it's economy.  And fixing the economy is not putting more people on disability than into jobs.
