From the Wisconsin Rapids Tribune: A 31-year-old Marshfield man authorities say showed up for an alcohol assessment class drunk was sentenced Monday to five days in jail.
Daniel S. Mueller was given work release with his jail sentence and ordered to pay $631 for negligent operation of a motor vehicle. The charge was reduced from a charge of drunken driving. Wood County Circuit Judge Nicholas Brazeau Jr. sentenced Mueller on Monday.
According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 13, 2013, a woman at Mid-State Technical College, 2600 W. Fifth St., Marshfield, contacted police and told them Mueller had arrived at the school to participate in an alcohol and other drug assessment class. The woman told an officer Mueller smelled of alcohol, had been unsteady on his feet and walked into a wall before entering his classroom.
Mueller said he had driven his girlfriend’s vehicle to the class and hadn’t had anything to drink after he arrived at the school, according to the complaint. He had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.106 percent. http://www.wisconsinrapidstribune.com/article/20140407/WRT010303/304070242/Marshfield-man-shows-up-alcohol-assessment-class-drunk
