Another Reason Why People Hate Government

This is a tragic case in Connecticut where a child was stolen from her family by the State of Massachusetts Child Protective Services and arrogant doctors, social workers and judges.
From Fox News: The teen at the center of a custody battle triggered by differing diagnoses by two Massachusetts hospitals will be transferred from the Bay State to a facility in her home state of Connecticut, according to Massachusetts officials, but her parents are not welcoming the decision.
Secretary of Health and Human Services John Polanowicz said Monday the "reunification" plan calls for 15-year-old Justina Pelletier to be transferred to a facility in Thompson, Conn., as the first step in a process that could eventually return her to the custody of her parents. A judge will make the final decision to return Justina to her family.....
The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families took emergency custody of Justina on Valentine’s Day 2013 after doctors at Tufts Medical Center, which had been treating her for a rare condition, and doctors as Boston Children’s Hospital, clashed over the cause of her medical problems, which included difficulty eating and walking.
At Tufts, Justina had been treated for mitochondrial disease, a group of rare genetic disorders affecting cellular energy production. When Justina began experiencing some gastrointestinal problems, the Tufts doctor treating her, Dr. Mark Korson, wanted the girl to visit Dr. Alejandro Flores at Boston Children's Hospital, according to the family's attorney, Phil Moran. Flores had treated Justina in the past, Moran said, and Korson thought it beneficial for the teen to see a gastroenterologist.
What happened next was a "tragic nightmare" for Justina, according to her father.
Justina was taken by ambulance to Boston Children's Hospital because she was in a wheelchair at the time and a heavy snowstorm was blanketing the region. Because she arrived by ambulance, she was taken directly into the hospital's emergency room, where a "resident refused to send her to Dr. Flores" and, "declared this was his case," according to Moran. He said the unnamed resident then called upon a psychologist who diagnosed Justina with somatoform disorder -- a mental condition in which a patient experiences symptoms that are real but have no physical or biological explanation. Justina was diagnosed with the disorder "within 25 minutes," Moran claims.
The Pelletier family rejected the new psychiatric diagnosis and wanted to bring Justina back to Tufts, Moran said. He claims the hospital tried to force the girl's parents to sign papers preventing them from seeking another opinion.
After tempers flared between the Pelletiers and staff at Boston Children's, the hospital notified the state that it suspected the parents of medical child abuse.
The girl was kept at Boston Children’s psychiatric ward for nearly a year, but was then slated to be transferred to another state facility. Johnston said the family, which vented its anger in various media interviews, hampered efforts to have her placed as near them as possible. She is currently being held at the Wayside Youth and Family Support Network facility in Framingham, Mass.
Pelletier has claimed Johnson ignored the testimony of his daughter's original doctors, who stand by the diagnosis of mitochondrial disease. In the more than a year since the ordeal began, the Pelletiers have only been allowed hourly visits each week with their daughter, whose condition, they say, has deteriorated. She has not attended school or church since the family lost custody of her, he said.  http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/05/06/justina-pelletier-to-be-transferred-to-conn-facility-mass-officials-said/
It seems that many times, CPS either over reaches, like in this case and takes away kids from their parents when they don't need to and then their are many times when they don't do enough.
It's tough to be a social worker in CPS- at times, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't and many times, their case load is quite large.
However, this case is a blatent abuse of power by social workers, doctors, judges and others who have kept Justina from her family.  It sounds like child kidnappers from  Massachusetts are on an ego trip and they have to lie and lie to cover their lies,

  1. And all of you Americans think you live in a free country? Think again!
There is a young person held captive in Massachusetts today who is not allowed to participate in religious ceremonies, or visit family without government agents watching. No, it’s not the accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. It’s 15-year-old mitochondrial disease patient and non-terrorist Justina Pelletier. U.S. District Court Judge George O’Toole Jr. ruled Wednesday that the now-20-year-old charged with four deaths and injuring of more than 260 people should be able to see his sisters without an FBI agent present.
“Can you believe it?” That was Jennifer Pelletier’s response when she was told about the ruling. She’s Justina’s older sister — and every visit she has with her wheelchair-bound sister is held under the watchful eye of agents from both the state’s Department of Children and Families and — since the story went national — armed state police! The family is only allowed one visit a week, for one hour a week, with their own sick daughter.
“It’s hard for me to say this,” Justina’s father Lou told me Wednesday, “but a terrorist is getting better treatment in Massachusetts right now than a sick teenager who’s done nothing wrong.” And that’s the source of rage among Justina’s supporters. She’s the one who’s suffering and all she did was come down with an illness.
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick had the executive power to pardon convicted criminals with the stroke of a pen, yet ignored the plight of an innocent, sick adolescent in state care. It's a dereliction of duty that Governor Patrick did not take action to free Justina into the loving arms of her family," commented Rev. Patrick Mahoney a spokesperson for the Pelletier Family. It is tragic that every young person in the Wayside Youth Facility
was able to spend time with their family and celebrate Easter except one. That is Justina Pelletier. It appears that the DCF was punishing Justina and the Pelletier family rather than trying to reunite them, which is their stated purpose.
How does this horrible Dr. Eli Newberger, have such enormous and unchecked power? This Juvenile Court Judge Joseph Johnson is even worse, he should be thrown off the bench. Is something involving illegal medical testing is going on at that hospital? Apparently, something illegal is going on? Let them all lose their jobs and their reputations for this unbelievable disdain for justice.
By the way folks, why isn't this news story on the main stream media (CBS, NBS, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, NPR, the
Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, etc)? What are they hiding?
A bill in the Massachusetts Legislature which would have overruled the judge and freed Justina immediately, HD 4212, written by MassResistance and filed on April 4, was blocked by the Democratic leadership in the House, despite national outrage and a flood of calls and emails from across the country. I thought the Democratic Party was for the people? Apparently not! Now, the DCF has announced that Justina will be moved to a hospital in
Connecticutt instead of with her parents! 15 months this has been going on!
Remember folks, never put your child in a Massachusetts hospital. Never
Justice is coming Justina. Hang on.
