Yesterday I pointed out that the Nevada Highway Patrol was milking a fatal accident by closing down Hwy 95, a main freeway in Las Vegas/Henderson for 6 hours while it investigated a simple motorcycle/car accident in which the cops knew the motorcycle was speeding. http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2014/06/nhp-milking-another-fatal-accident-for.html
Yesterday, there is was a multi-vehicle accident in New Jersey in which actor Tracy Morgan was critically injured.
From Bloomberg: Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) apologized after a highway accident involving one of its truck drivers critically injured actor-comedian Tracy Morgan and prompted the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board to join a state investigation.
Kevin Roper, 35, of Jonesboro, Georgia, was charged in Middlesex County, New Jersey, with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault after the Wal-Mart tractor trailer he was driving crashed into a limousine van whose occupants included Morgan. A comedian traveling with the former “Saturday Night Live” television star was killed.
A section of the turnpike was closed from about 1 a.m until 6:25 a.m. yesterday, Williams said. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-06-07/wal-mart-says-sorry-after-tracy-morgan-hurt-in-accident.html
So, a far more complex accident scene in New Jersey closed the highway for 5 hours and 25 minutes, it took over 6 hours for the NHP to clear a simple accident scene.
Is the NHP that incompetent or are they milking the system for overtime. Are they taking advantage of people dying so they can line their pockets with a little overtime pay?
Or is the NHP that stupid?
My guess, they are milking the system to get over time.
