Three people were killed and 28 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Thursday night.
The most recent fatal shooting happened around 10:20 a.m. Saturday in South Chicago. Deandre Brown, 23, was in the 8700 block of South Houston Avenue when he was shot in a leg and the abdomen, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Brown, of the 9000 block of South Mackinaw Avenue, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

◆ A 30-year-old Southwest Side man was shot in the abdomen and killed in a Walgreens parking lot at West 63rd Street and South Austin Avenue in Clearing just before 1 a.m. Saturday, police said. Joel Bentley, of the 5000 block of South Keating Avenue, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
◆ Just after 2:30 a.m. Friday in West Englewood, two men were standing outside in the 2000 block of West 63rd Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone opened fire, striking both of them, police said. Corey Hudson, 34, of the 6000 block of South Bell Avenue, was dead at the scene, the medical examiner’s office said.
